Hewat's was established over 7 years ago by a married couple Richard (Chef) and Margaret (Front of house) and serves a fusion of French and Scottish cuisine.
Hewat’s is located next to the Meadows area of Edinburgh, just a few minutes drive from the city centre.
The Chef, Richard, had previously been a chef for 16 years, 10 of which he was a Head Chef at a variety of restaurants. His cuisine is based on a combination of classic French and Scottish.
He was Head Chef at the RBS world headquarters in Edinburgh. Whilst there he was part of the team that ran a five-star catering operation to standards comparable with the finest restaurants and hotels.
Prior to this he was Head Chef at Poldrates Restaurant, Haddington and at Fisher's Bistro at Leith, Edinburgh. Whilst Head Chef at Fisher's he was head of the team that won Fisher's the Egon Roney Seafood Restaurant of the Year Award.
To achieve his Head Chef status Richard was highly respected as a chef for restaurants in the Sheraton & Hilton Hotels.
Richard works closely with his wife, Margeret, who is highly experienced in working front of house.
